Let It Ride Strategy
Let it Ride Poker isn’t a complicated game to play and there isn’t too much strategy to learn. We have compiled some tips that you should follow to ensure that you’re playing Let it Ride the most optimal way possible. The following strategy is based on playing Let it Ride using Vegas rules. The strategy never changes much when playing different variations, but it does change slightly.
Let it Ride Poker Strategy
When you play Let it Ride you need to decide whether you want to “let it ride” during two betting rounds. Read over the rules if you don’t know how to play Let it Ride before you continue reading the strategy in this article.
Optimal Let it Ride Strategy with 3 Cards (When to Let it Ride)
- When you have a pair of 10’s or better.
- When you have any three to a royal flush.
- When you have three suited connectors.
Optimal Let it Ride Strategy with 4 Card (When to Let it Ride)
- When you have a pair of 10’s or better, two pairs or three of a kind.
- When you have four suited cards.
- When you have four to a straight with 1 card over 10.
- When you have four cards to an inside straight with all four cards being 10 or higher.
Some players will try and get lucky with other hands, but you’ll be playing into the house’s advantage when playing other hands. A couple of the hands listed above are 0% house edge, but most of them are in your advantage. The overall house edge in Let it Ride is 3.51%, which means that you’re expected to lose $3.51 for every $100 you wager. Obviously you won’t always lose money when you play because of variance and strategy, but on average you’re supposed to lose 3.51% of your bets.
When you play Let it Ride you’re not supposed to show your cards to other players. Many players have asked whether it would increase their chances of winning if they could see other players’ cards while playing. If you were playing on a full table with 7 players you’d only lower the house edge by roughly 1.2% if you could see everyone’s cards and used the information perfectly. In other words it isn’t going to help you much by seeing a couple of your opponents’ cards while playing Let it Ride.
When using the optimal strategy in Let it Ride the house edge is extremely low. I also like the fact that you can pull off two of your bets if you don’t have a great hand. Hitting a pair of 10’s or better also isn’t that rare while playing. We recommend playing the 3-card bonus game in Let it Ride if you have the chance. There is another bonus bet in Let it Ride at some casinos, but the house edge is pretty big and you should only play the bet if you want the chance to win a massive payout.
